ufc 116 lesnar

I was on vacation in Delaware for this fight which I wanted to get on PPV really bad. I don’t know what COmcasts deal was down there, but for the life of me I was not able to order. On a geek note I ended up having to order it via my laptop, then hooking the laptop up via HDMI to the TV. I missed most of the bouts, but was able to catch the Leben/sexy yama fight and of course the main event.

I was up in the air about the Lesnar / Carwin fight. Carwin has been eating people alive, but Lesnar is just awesome IMO. That guy has learned so much in such little time it really impresses me. Lesnar coming back from his medical issues had me wondering.  Right of the bat Carwin was rocking Lesnar and I thought it was over for Brock. Now… did Lesnar really let Carwin put a beating on him to tire himself out? I guess nobody really knows, but it sure worked, cause Carwin was def gassed in that 2nd round and Lesnar was able to take advantage of that and nite nite Carwin.

Flex Magazine lists the top 10 hardest hitters in the UFC

This is their list:

10 – Houston Alexander
9  - Anthony Johnson
8  - Shane Carwin
7  - Rashad Evans
6  - Thiago Alves
5  - Brock Lesnar
4  - Chuck Liddell
3  - Quentin “Rampage” Jackson
2  - Wanderlei Silva
1  - Anderson Silva

I can’t argue with Anderson Silva at #1, but I’m a little surprised that Brock Lesnar and Rampage Jackson aren’t sitting right there at #2 and #3 because both of those guys hit like they have 50 pounds of cement in each hand.

Thoughts on the list?

Brock Lesnar -vs- Fedor Emelianenko discussion

After Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Couture at UFC 91, many controversies came about. The largest of the controversies was the topic of who would win an MMA bout – Fedor Emelianenko or Brock Lesnar? As much hype as this topic had been receiving, the actual chances of a bout coming together was slim to none. Fedor and his management did not agree with the UFC terms, and Dana White given up as well. All hope was lost until now!

UFC 98 is prospect to pair Brock Lesnar against Frank Mir for the unification of the UFC Heavyweight Title. This will be the second confrontation in the Octagon between the two.

Two possible outcomes concerning a possible Emelianenko vs. Lesnar can result from UFC 98: Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir.

1. Frank Mir defeats Brock Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Title. If this is the outcome fans would not be as interested for a possible Fedor vs. Lesnar bout. It would be interesting to see, but the matter of who would win would not be as much of a concern anymore.

2. Brock Lesnar defeats Frank Mir to unify the UFC Heavyweight Title. If this is what comes from UFC 98 fans will want to know even more, who is the top Heavyweight in the world? We have some good news!

Fedor Emelianenko and M-1 Global hopes to meet with Dana White in June of 2009, to discuss a possible Fedor Emelianenko vs Brock Lesnar bout.Very Excited!

“Yes, I will fight again on the next Affliction card. Besides this, me and my management hope to get a chance to talk to Dana White in person in June to discuss a possible fight between me and Brock Lesnar.” (Emelianenko tells DreamFighters.com)
