| Coming from a wrestling background, Grant began training at 15 years of age. In 2001 he earned the title of Provincial Wrestling Champion, as well as in 2002 and 2004. He has represented Nova Scotia in the Canada games in London, Ontario in 2001. He holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has trained under Jorge Gurgel. He favors striking at the knees and using the arm bar for grappling |
